Milei Celebrates 2026 Budget Approval

Argentinian President Javier Milei marked the completion of the 2026 budget approval process and the new Fiscal Innocence Law in Buenos Aires, emphasizing their importance for his agenda. In the Senate, the vote passed with 46 votes in favor, 25 against and 1 abstention, a public event covered in social media. The new law, called the 'Fiscal Innocence Law', protects citizens from attempts by the state to seize their savings and from arbitrary persecution. It also changes tax procedural regulations, introduces a simplified profit declaration regime and enhances the tax regime. The government said that excessive control in the past was ineffective in combating money laundering, and now efforts will focus on fighting drug traffickers, terrorists and corrupt politicians, not workers, producers or small businesses. Milei urged citizens to adopt the simplified profit regime and freely use their savings, saying it is a turning point in the country's history.

Milei said: "We are celebrating a great achievement for the country’s economy and the future of its citizens."
Bullrich expressed: "Happy about the historic budget achievement."
